| Overview |
Beamer
TV is an extension of Vialta's successful Beamer videophone
product line, providing consumers with an alternative viewing
format at a lower price point that broadens the potential
consumer videophone market. Beamer TV displays live, color
motion video of the other calling party, on any standard (NTSC)
television. Beamer works with any phone (corded or cordless),
over any standard (analog) phone line, at no additional cost
to your phone call. While the viewing format is different
than the Beamer (which displays video on a 3.5" LCD screen),
Beamer TV still offers the same major features that are inherent
to all Vialta videophone models. These features include stylish
design, ease of setup, ease of use, no special equipment or
wiring required, and no service fees, contracts or subscriptions.

Design:
Beamer TV's sleek, slim, compact design enables it to transition
easily into any home environment. A high priority was given
to the relationship of form with function, as evidenced by
Beamer TV's adjustable tilt camera for optimum viewing angle
on any television screen, camera lens cover for purity of
lines, and palm-size remote control that nestles in a specially
designed recessed area for storing the remote control out
of sight when not in use. The skid-proof base ensures that
Beamer TV sits securely atop any television or home entertainment
center.
User Interface: Beamer TV's intuitive design allows
for simple setup right out of the box. Plug your phone into
Beamer TV, plug Beamer TV into your wall phone jack, and then
connect Beamer TV to your television's video-in jack. Using
Beamer TV is as simple as the set up. The Start/Views button,
located on both the unit and remote control, starts the video
transmission and also allow users to switch between three
different views. The Snapshot button lets users pause the
live video, sending a high-resolution still image instead.
Beamer TV does not require any special equipment or special
wiring. Similar to needing two phones to make a phone call,
you need two Beamer TV units, or a combination of Beamer TV
and Beamer, to make a Beamer video call.
Viewing Capabilities: Using the remote control, callers
can switch between three viewing options. Callers can go from
a video of the person they are speaking with to a view of
themselves, or they can choose the Combo View that allows
both the caller and the person on the other line to be viewed
simultaneously. If a video image is particularly appealing,
the caller can use the Snapshot function to send that specific
view rather than continuous video. Beamer TV's Snapshot feature
also serves as a privacy mode, enabling each party to temporarily
pause and resume any new video transmission.
