FREMONT, Calif.- April 21, 2004 - Vialta, Inc.
(OTC:VLTA) has announced that it has developed a broadband
version of its award-winning Beamer videophone. The
Broadband Beamer is the next step in continuing to broaden
the Company's videophone product line. Over the next
few months, Vialta will field-test Broadband Beamer
by a few select companies. Broadband Beamer is expected
to be made available to the public during the fourth
quarter of 2004.
Vialta
president and CEO Didier Pietri states, "Vialta's
current Beamer videophone models enable consumers to
easily see friends and family over an analog line connection
(which is the standard for residences in the U.S). Vialta's
Broadband Beamer will enable the 39 million Americans*
who are broadband subscribers to see each other at up
to 30 frames per second - which is the frame rate for
television - in full-motion color video." Mr. Pietri
concluded, "The ability to see someone you care
about by phone is a better, more personal way to stay
connected than just hearing their voice."
Upon
its release, Broadband Beamer will be the fourth videophone
model in the Beamer videophone product line, the third
new videophone model introduced by Vialta since September
2003, and the first Beamer videophone model that solely
uses a broadband connection. (* Source: Nielsen//Net
